Transport
Community Car Scheme
The Heacham & District Community Car Scheme
continues to provide transport for people living within
the catchment area of Heacham, Snettisham and Dersingham.
The fee charged is 30p per mile, minimum £1 per
trip. Although the majority of journeys are for
medical purposes, transport is also provided for local
shopping needs etc. However, it is not intended as
a cheap taxi service but more as a last resort for people
who find it difficult to make alternative arrangements.
Additional volunteer drivers would be very welcome.
The amount of time this takes up is largely down to
the driver and therefore need not involve a big
commitment. However, a mileage allowance is paid
and the work can be rewarding.
Anyone requiring more information in use of the scheme
or becoming a volunteer driver, should contact the
co-ordinators on 01485 544544.
Bus Services
Dersingham is served by half-hourly buses operated
between King's Lynn and Hunstanton by Eastern Counties.
Timetables are available in the Dersingham Library or the
Post Office; or by telephoning the county bus information
service (NORBIC) on 0845 300 6116.
